The Hiring Pulse, 6 October 2026: Advertised pay for research roles climbs 6.0%

The global stable-panel index edged up 0.17 points on Tuesday even as employers trimmed like-for-like openings across several major markets.

• According to the Arihaan crawl, median advertised annual pay for Science & Research roles rose 6.0% over the week to 6 October 2026, from $125,000 to $132,500.
• Advertised pay for Customer Success & Support positions also increased, rising 3.3% over the same seven-day window to $59,403 from $57,500.
• The global stable-panel index reached 98.17, an increase of 0.17 points on the day, leaving openings down 1.83% compared with the 26 September base.
• Across all tracked employers on a like-for-like basis, total openings fell 0.3% over the week, with India declining 3.1% and Germany rising 1.1%.
• Among individual employers, department store Belk reduced open postings by 22.9% to 1,311, whereas DICK'S Sporting Goods added 624 roles, up 18.8%.
